MISSION
Promoting physical, emotional and spiritual healing for child victims of neglect, abuse, and abandonment through intervention programs, education and advocacy.
MOTIVATION
For The Children staff and volunteers are motivated by the example Christ set to share a common goal, with people of goodwill, of caring for those Jesus referred to as, “The least of these.”
OUR CHAPTER ORIGIN

Many children pray for relief, for hope, for affirmation, for positive interaction and fun in a safe environment.
For over 30 years, church volunteers, staff and local supporters have dedicated their time, talents and treasures to help transform the lives of vulnerable children across the globe as Royal Family KIDS Inc; beginning in Santa Clara, California and expanding with chapters across the globe. A current member of Harvest Fields Community Church participated in the 1999 launch of NYC’s first chapter of RFK at Brooklyn Tabernacle. This volunteer, sensing the cries, the prayer and needs of children who have experienced abuse, neglect and abandonment; was filled with a burning desire to see other RFK chapters established in the various boroughs of New York City. She returned to fellowship at HFCC, Bronx; joining her relatives. From there, she continued serving the Brooklyn chapter. With the help of the RFK team in Brooklyn, the mission and program of RFK was shared with the pastor of HFCC.
Sr. Pastor, Rev. Dr. Mitchell Torres began praying immediately about HFCC partnering with RFK Inc in serving the Bronx foster care community. After much prayer; In a scenario only God could have planned; RFK CEO, Paul Martin happened to be visiting New York City in Spring 2019 and a meeting was had with Pastor Mitchell Torres. Subsequently, the Board of HFCC approved the establishment of Royal Family KIDS #401, Bronx. Being a small church with limited funds; great fundraising effort was launched to fund summer camp free of cost to children and families. The COVID pandemic preempted Camp 2020. However, the fervor and commitment of the volunteers continued; the leadership team continued weekly ZOOM meetings planning events. Communication and events with foster care families continued. Visits outside their respective homes with back to school gifts and toys, prayer support in crisis, a social distanced Family Day event in autumn, and Christmas package delivery in winter. Planning for summer camp continues.
Through the expanded ministry of FOR THE CHILDREN, we look forward to years of service to children in our community who have experienced abuse, abandonment and neglect.

MEET THE LEADERSHIP TEAM

Pauline Archer-Domenech
Chapter Director
Growing up, I looked forward to the highlight of my summer vacation...Summer Camp! It was one week of my summer where all of my social, physical and spiritual needs were met. I carry many of those memories with me to this day. I am so blessed to be able to bring these same memories to children who are in desperate need of these life-changing moments!

P. Lilla Archer
Assistant Chapter Director
As a child, I experienced the care, nurture and affirmation of caring adults in the family and community while my biological parents were away pursuing financial security. It is my privilege to continue providing that care and attention to children who have experienced more adverse situations. God helping me.

Mitchell & Sharlotte Torres
Senior Pastor & His Wife
Mitchell and Sharlotte Torres realize the importance of investing in the lives of children, especially those who have been marginalized by society. We believe RFK offers an opportunity to heal and mend the broken by empowering them through people who care.

Alex Martinez
Dean of Men
As the Dean of Men, I support our male counselors so they can best serve the children. My goal is to love the children as Christ loves the children.

Awilda Soto
Dean of Women
I joined the FTC/RFK team because I don't have children and I love children. It gives me an opportunity to show them the love of Christ and make an impact on their lives so they can feel important and loved!
MEET THE COMMITTEE LEADERS

Dinorah Santiago
I love helping children see God's love because it is essential to the development of their mental, physical, and spiritual health. "Grow up a child in the ways of the Lord and they shall not depart." Proverbs 22:6

Ingrid Reyes
“Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.” Psalms 127:3
This is why I serve For The Children/RFK Camp Ministry.

Johanne Javel
Every child should experience the love, joy, friendships and the memories that summer camp provides regardless of their circumstances. I joined FTC-Bronx to help make this a reality for so many children in the foster care system.

"Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me but he who sent me." Mark 9:37

Rebecca Martinez
Every child is a gift from God...Loving his children is loving God.
